Sensual massage in Amsterdam: the formats sorted by how loud they are

Ten techniques, arranged for a guest who would rather not deliberate. Nothing on this page describes what a session holds; your therapist sets her own limits and says where they are. What it can tell you is which formats sit still and which bring water, gel and movement with them.

A catalogue is its own kind of noise. So read the list below by tempo rather than by appetite, and take the first one that sounds restful. Nobody is graded on the choice, and a booking can be described in the thread rather than named from a menu.

The formats that ask nothing of the room

Warm oil and slow hands need a bed, a heated room and the towels she carries. That is the whole requirement. Sensual massage and erotic oil massage sit at the quiet end for that reason: nothing is unpacked, nothing is rinsed out afterwards, and nothing about the hour travels through a shared wall. Naked massage belongs in the same group, with one layer fewer between the hands and the work.

Body to body work is quiet in the same way and closer still, with contact carried along the length of the back instead of through the palms alone. It leaves the bathroom exactly as it was found, which matters more than it sounds when you have no wish to be moving around at midnight.

The formats that bring equipment with them

Gel and foam change the arrangement. Nuru wants a surface, a warm room and a shower you are willing to stand in afterwards. Soapy starts in the bathroom, so the bathroom decides how well it goes, and a cramped one turns a slow session into a series of small negotiations. Neither belongs to a hushed hour by default, though both work well when the room is generous and you ask for ninety minutes rather than sixty.

Breath, when the mind will not settle

Tantra is the slowest thing offered and the one built around breathing rather than around a sequence of strokes. An hour cuts it off before it has arrived, so ninety minutes is where it begins. It suits the particular kind of tiredness where the body is finished and the head is still filing things, which is common after a day spent among crowds. The tantra page sets out how the pacing works.

Two therapists, and a room with four hands in it

Four hand massage puts two therapists on one guest, and the hourly line doubles to match. It is the one entry on this list that a quiet guest should think about twice, because two people in a small room is more presence, not less. Guests who like it say the opposite of what you might expect: with two sets of hands there is nothing to follow and nothing to anticipate, so the mind gives up tracking sooner. Guests who want stillness above everything tend to stay with one.

Length, and the long block

Sixty minutes resets a body before sleep. Ninety is the length most people here settle on, because the first twenty minutes go on arriving rather than on the work. Two hours or three suit an evening that has nothing planned after it. The eight hour block, held at one figure for the whole night, is a different shape again, taken in passages across a night rather than as one continuous session.

If none of this decides it

Write ninety minutes of sensual work and leave the rest. It is the booking that assumes the least about you, needs the least from the room and can be slowed further at any point by saying so once. The booking page shows what a first message looks like when it is kept short.
